Meet Dr. Stewart Abbott

Dr. Stewart Abbott holds a Bachelors degree from Manchester University, a Masters from Royal Holloway University of London and a PhD from Southampton University. He has taught art and architectural history courses at Southampton and Reading Universities. His research interest centres on the ways in which architecture has been represented in text and image and how we can interpret these sources today. He has contributed a chapter to a forthcoming book dealing with urban influences that can be found in eighteenth century rural cottages. He is a member of the History Department at Queen Mary University of London.
He is the Events Secretary of the Society of Architectural Historian Great Britain and a British representative for the newly established European Architectural History Network.
He teaches courses on Interior Design History at AIU London.
