Fashion Marketing
Few people really need another dress or pair of shoes! The Fashion industry is a major international business and Fashion Marketing is about understanding and responding to the needs and wants of the fashion consumer. It is a fascinating field that requires a passion for fashion products as well as an enquiring and analytical mind about the behaviours of customers and fashion organisations.
I started my career as an electronics engineer, then moved through various sales and marketing roles to become European Marketing Manager of an international company. Experience has taught me the importance of customer care, commercial integrity and quality in marketing fashion. I have an executive MBA and I do consultancy work with a focus on the supplier–customer interface. I have helped organisations in education, online marketing and retailing to serve their customers better.
Our students benefit from the many contacts that the department has within the fashion industry. I work with the Textile Institute to arrange events, speakers and to help develop fashion industry networks. I believe that people have diverse talents and are often more capable than they realise. My goal is to support our students to become innovative and visionary fashion marketing professionals.
